North Ferriby are currently members of the Northern Premier League Division One East and play at The Dransfield Stadium at step four of the National League System.

Joint first-team manager Chris Holland wished Dewhurst well ahead of his transfer;

"I was in the Thackley dugout last season when North Ferriby sealed promotion to the Northern Premier League, they're a well-supported club and we can't stand in John's way when an opportunity of this nature presents itself. Harley and I wish him well, and he knows the door will always be open for him to return to the Showground in the future."

Dewhurst scored 4 goals in 11 games for Otley this season, including a strike on his final game for the club in the 4-2 win over Ripon City.
