Thackley stopper joins on dual-registration

Otley Town are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Thomas Chakraverty on dual-registration from NCEL side Thackley AFC.

Chakraverty has been capped at international level by Gibraltar at U21 level and was also a member of Lincoln Red Imps’ Europa Conference League squad.

Otley joint first team manager Chris Holland commented on the signing;

“I think this is a deal that is beneficial for all involved and I’m pleased we’ve been able to get it over the line. Thomas has an impressive background and comes highly recommended by people whose opinions I respect, I’m sure he will be successful at the Showground this season and at Dennyfield in the longer term.”

Thackley joint first team manager Danny Forrest said of the arrangement;

“Thomas has been great since coming in at the start of the pre season. He’s been professional, shown his quality and pushed Luke (Wilson). Going on a dual reg with Otley is a great opportunity for him to progress. We’re familiar with Otley Town and in particular Chris who we know creates a positive environment and has the same values and passion as we do."

It’s been a busy few weeks on the player registration front with several additions to the playing squad across the first team and U23 side.

Former Coalville Town attacker Charlie Smith and ex-BarrowTown defender Declan Warren also signed for the club this week, the pair reuniting at the Showground having previously played together for Leicestershire County. Bradford Park Avenue U19 defender Oliver Taylor has committed to Town having played under Holland last season at Thackley.

Also joining the club are Nyan Htet, Gabe Astin, Kimarni Morgan, Marcel Krynski and Shayeet Sharma.
