New captain named on eve of new West Yorkshire League season

Mitchal Lambert-Tuthill has been named first team captain for the 2023/24 season by joint first team management duo Harley Hirst and Chris Holland. New signing Josh Sheffield will serve as vice-captain.

Lambert-Tuthill joined Town in 2016 and has gone on to make 156 competitive appearances for the club, scoring 25 goals. Joining the club as a midfielder, he has been deployed at centre back by Hirst & Holland throughout preseason and put in several commanding performances that ultimately earned him the armband.

Holland; "We're lucky to have many leaders in our group. Daz Munday is a vastly experienced player, Brad Longhorn was my captain at Thackley last season, but Mitch has been a driving force for the lads through a turbulent period of change this summer. He knows our standards and cares about the club, he will thrive with this extra responsibility."

Hirst; “Mitch is a great lad to work with, he’s been a big voice in the changing room and a leader on the pitch throughout a preseason that’s seen a lot of changes. There’s no doubt the Otley Pirlo will make a fine skipper and play a huge part in getting the club back where it belongs.”
